Waters Upton Parish Council
Waters Upton Parish Council meetings usually take place in Waters Upton Village Hall on the fourth Wednesday of every month (except August) at 7.30pm.

Agendas are produced and circulated at least 3 days before a meeting. Councillors must not participate in discussion of any item on any agenda if they have declared a pre-determined view. Anyone who has a pre-determined view or who has declared an interest in an agenda item, must leave the room whilst the decision of the Parish Counicil is made.
The Agenda for any Council meeting is available from the Clerk, or it can be found on the website. Following the meeting, draft Minutes are published on the website and displayed in the village noticeboards. They are then confirmed at the next Full Council meeting. You can also request that your email address be added to a database to receive agendas and minutes direct to your inbox.
The first item on a Full Council Agenda is the Public Session. This is time set aside for members of the community to bring matters to the attention of the Clerk and Councillors. We encourage people to attend and we welcome comments and suggestions.
On occasions, special topic meetings take place.

In addition to regular Full Council and Committee meetings, the Parish Council holds an Annual General Meeting in May. The AGM starts the new administrative year and is the meeting at which all members make their Declaration of Acceptance of Office. The Chairman and Vice Chairman are elected and the schedule of meeting dates, make-up of Committees and members on outside bodies are agreed. The acceptance of Standing Orders and Financial Regulations are all confirmed at this meeting.
The Annual Parish Meeting (APM) is held in April. This meeting gives residents an opportunity to meet their Councillors and to raise anything of concern or interest in a more informal setting. The Chairman presents an Annual Report and the Annual Accounts are available. One of our Ward Councillors will normally attend the APM.
Parish Council elections take place every four years and once elected, Members serve a four year term of office unless they retire or are disqualified.
If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor you can apply to the Returning Officer at Telford & Wrekin Council when an election is advertised.
Our Parish Council meetings take place in Waters Upton Village Hall, which is situated close to the centre of the village, TF6 6NP.
The Village Hall is an ideal venue for meetings and other events and is managed by the Committee on behalf of the Trust of St Michael's Church.
